Healthy Snacks for Super Bowl Sunday

So you've decided to make healthier choices in eating, but you're having a Super Bowl Party. Don't panic! There are plenty of healthy choices you can serve at your party. Here are some of my choices:

  • Grapes
  • Plate of cut-up veggies (carrots, celery, broccoli, jicama)
  • Hummus dip (tomato basil or roasted garlic)
  • Cowboy caviar (see recipe) with tortilla chips
  • Fish taco bar: flour and corn tortillas, grilled fish, grated cheese, shredded cabbage, cut-up tomatoes, chopped onions, peppers and salsa
Leave a comment to share your favorite healthy snack.

Enjoy the game! ...and go Packers!!!

  1. Great ideas! I am shopping today for the Big Event and needed some healthy suggestions. I'm not a fish fan so I'll use chicken, but I really like the taco bar idea. Thanks!

  3. mmmm I LOVE hummus! Any brands I should be aware of that aren't as good for you? Lately I've been making wraps with hummus instead of the mayo or whatever sauce I'd used before! So good! -Sara

  4. Sara, as I always say, read the label and decide. Watch for too many additives and corn syrup. Generally I like the Sabra brand. Besides for dipping, Hummus is great for spreading on sandwiches and wraps as you have discovered. Mmmmm good!

  5. Chris, you made the table look very inviting. My daughter, Janell, always has a Super Bowl party. I'm sending her this link. :)

  7. Love your blog! You have inspired us to do fish tacos tomorrow.

My favorite healthy appetizer is some swiss chard or kale sauteed in oil and garlic, then add a can of organic white beans with liquid and let cook a bit. Season with s&P and add some red pepper for heat and YUM! Serve with whatever or just eat!

    Hope you are well. Carrie.

  8. I'm happy to hear that, Carrie. And thanks for your recipe, I'll put that on the site. Do you have a name for it?
