Natural Skin Care From the Kitchen

Have you spent a small fortune on skin care and don't seem to get the results you hoped for? I'm always looking for inexpensive, natural and effective ways to have nice skin. Here are a few quick and easy solutions to great skin.

Bleaching
To bleach away those brown spots that we get as we... ahem... age, use equal parts fresh squeezed lemon juice and milk. Mix it up and dab it on your skin morning and night before you wash your face. You'll see the spots fade. Don't forget to put some on the back of your hands. The citric acid and lactic acid act as bleaching agents on those dark areas of skin.

Lotion
Use 100% organic extra virgin coconut oil every morning on your fresh-washed face. It may feel oily going on, but its quickly absorbed so you can apply makeup.

Scrub
Mix coconut oil and sea salt to make a face scrub to slough away those dead skin cells once a week.

What beauty secrets do you use from the kitchen?

  1. Good info Chris. I discovered coconut oil this summer while in Maui, and have some on hand. Also, fresh lemons from our tree. I'll definitely give it a try. :)

    1. Coconut oil is wonderful for cooking. Glad you made the discovery, Danie. Don't forget to use the lemons in your water to alkalize your body.
