Cabbage, broccoli, brussels sprouts and other cruciferous vegetables are shown to prevent a number of cancers. However, if these veggies are cooked or frozen, the cancer-fighting phytonutrient called sulforaphane is unavailable. But wait! If you add a little ground mustard powder after cooking, you replace the enzyme needed to release the suforaphane.
