Keep Your Vegetables and Fruit Fresher Longer

Now that you've been buying more vegetables to get healthy, how do you keep them from going bad before you can eat them? When I started my diet, eating lots more vegetables, I needed a way to keep them fresh as long as possible. Proper food storage is important. I threw out lots of vegetables in the past and I didn't want that to happen—it gets expensive. Wondering if the Debbie Meyer Green Bags I'd seen on TV were any good, I picked up a box when I saw them in the grocery produce section.

Comfort Food Recipe: Portabella Mushroom Spaghetti

Anyone else feeling a bit stressed lately with all the uncertainty in the world? Time for some healthy comfort food. This recipe is full of wonderful vegetables. The portabella mushroom adds a meaty texture and flavor that everyone is sure to like. Top off the dish with some toasted garlic bread made from whole grain bread, brushed with olive oil and spices. Yummmmmm!

Eating Healthy While Traveling

When you travel and find yourself having to eat in restaurants, here are some tips on how to eat healthy.
  1. Don't be afraid to ask for food not on the menu. At one fine restaurant, I asked the waiter to steam whatever vegetables they had in the kitchen and bring it out.
  2. If you choose beef, the usual vegetable accompaniment is potato. Ask to substitute another healthier choice.
  3. Look for healthier choices on the menu. Many restaurants are now offering lighter, healthier fare. Take advantage of it.

Acid Reflux or Heartburn a Problem?


Many people suffer from acid reflux and heartburn. For a simple remedy, squeeze a quarter of a lemon into eight ounces of filtered water and drink first thing in the morning.
